Student Association
The Northern State University Student Association welcomes all the students here at NSU. Student Association would also like to let you know that if you have any cares, concerns, or compliments about our great school, feel free to let us know. Our purpose is to help the students with whatever cares or concerns they have here at Northern State University..
If you enjoy student government and think that Student Association is something you would be interested in, then you can join the Student Association. Every March, elections are held to determine a new president and vice president as well as the senators for the following school year. In order to run for the Student Association, you must meet a couple of small requirements..
Other than dealing with the cares and concerns of the students, the Student Association also is responsible for dealing with the spending of student funds. Each semester as NSU students, you pay a general activity fund (GAF). Members of the Student Association are responsible for helping to determine what programs this money is given to..
The Student Association also sponsors events with other schools around the state. One of these events, known as SHED (Students For Higher Education) days, is held each year to help students from around the state work with South Dakota state legislature. Students are then able voice their opinions to the legislature on current bills which would impact higher education in the state of South Dakota.
Meetings: weekly on Tuesdays @ 9 pm in Maroon B
