Dr. Ricardo Rojas, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, presented a paper titled “Math 351: A Work In Progress,” at the 2013 Joint Mathematics Meetings Conference of the Mathematical Association of America, in San Diego, CA, in January 2013. Dr. Steven Usitalo, Associate Professor of History, published two book reviews: a review of A Question of Genocide: Armenians and Turks at the End of the Ottoman Empire (Oxford University Press, 2011), was published in Canadian Slavonic Papers, and a review of Terror and Greatness: Ivan and Peter as Russian Myths’ (Cornell University Press, 2011), in Eighteenth-Century Studies. In addition, Dr. Usitalo participated in a panel on Eighteenth-Century Russia and Asia at the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies Annual Conference. Dr. Usitalo is currently co- translating, co-editing, and co-introducing a photography album on the life of the Soviet-era Armenian film director Sergei Paradzhanov. Dr. Patrick Whiteley, Professor of English, read a paper titled “Anglo-Irish Legacies in Jennifer Johnston’s Fiction,” at the Midwest American Conference for Irish Studies in Milwaukee, WI, in October 2012.
