Research Interests:

Characterization and isolation of microsatellite loci for various species                creation of microsatellite primers

Genetic structure of animal populations
examination of within population gene flow, parentage testing, and genetic structure using microsatellite loci

inference of phylogenies for phylogeographic analyses using microsatellites and mitochondrial DNA

Elucidation of species using microsatellite markers and/or karyotyping techniques
delineation of species using various markers, e.g. microsatellite loci, mtDNa, and Y-chromosomes

Other Research Interests
examination of the effects of toxins on gene expression in animals during developmental processes.
